Hanszen Laporte Partner Matthew Hansel successfully achieved a milestone victory in a complex indemnification dispute that has been ongoing for over a decade and has spanned across three international arbitrations, a remand arbitration, and various enforcement actions in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. In this most recent and final iteration, Hansel was able to compel a partial settlement of an action recently filed with International Centre for Dispute Resolution, which netted Hanszen Laporte’s client, a Houston-based international oil and gas company, an eight-figure payout.
