Amy R. ShugartWith 15+ years experience as an attorney, Amy Shugart is a valuable part of the firm. As a former clerk to US District Court Judge Norman Black, Ms. Shugart learned well the art of considering all aspects of an issue and thoroughly researching matters prior to rendering an opinion. Ms. Shugart is also an AMI trained mediator, further reflecting her focus on the resolution of disputes. In recent years, Ms. Shugart has focused her practice in the area of structured receivables, representing several industry leaders in courts throughout the State of Texas. Amy received her law degree from the University of Houston and her undergraduate degree from SUNY - Binghamton. She is licensed to practice before all Texas courts, state and federal, and has practiced before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Amy is actively involved with many charities and has devoted countless pro bono hours to working for the disadvantaged. Amy has one daughter, Leah.
