
Kent Hanszen is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and enjoys an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell's Peer Review Ratings. He brings a broad perspective to litigation, having worked for large firms in Beaumont and Houston as well as having developed his own practice. He has specialized in business disputes, including trade secret and non-competition issues, insurance coverage matters, contract claims, and oil and gas matters. With more than fifteen years of trial experience, Kent strives to provide his clients with practical solutions to their disputes, giving honest and candid information and analysis, enabling the client to make the best decision possible. In this manner, Kent's clients have enjoyed considerable success at both the trial and appellate level.
Kent earned his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center and a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Texas A&M University. He is licensed to practice in all Texas State courts, the Federal Courts of the Southern District and Eastern District of Texas, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans. Kent has practiced before the courts in more than fifty counties in Texas and before numerous state courts of appeals. Kent has practiced in every federal district in Texas, the Western District of Oklahoma and the Southern District of New York. Kent also is a Certified Mediator through the A. A. White Institute associated with the University of Houston. He is a member of the Texas Association of Civil Trial and Appellate Specialists and a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas.
Kent was born in Many, Louisiana and grew up in Carthage, a small town nestled among the piney woods of East Texas. Prior to entering law school, Kent utilized his business education while working for the defense contractor General Dynamics and subsequently as an auditor for NCNB Texas National Bank (now known as Bank of America). Kent is married to Theresa and they have four children - Elizabeth, Emily, Sam and Iris.

With both business experience and trial experience, Kent has both the skills and the leadership to take the helm in a storm and guide the client safely.
