D. Brent WellsOf Counsel

Brent is a former calculus teacher—he worked for his wife, Carole—who has practiced as a commercial litigation attorney in Texas for approximately 45 years. His practice has focused on creditors’ rights and collections, as well as the defense of consumer claims. A practical problem-solver, Brent prioritizes resolution and approaches disputes in a manner that often earns the respect—and sometimes even the admiration—of opposing parties.
Drawing on his extensive bankruptcy experience, Brent has frequently defended clients in preference litigation. He has served as a mediator since mediation was first established by statute in Texas and as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and the National Arbitration Forum for more than 30 years.
Do not mistake softness for weakness. Water is soft, but water can also carve mountains. Let your kindness flow like water; adaptable, yet unstoppable.
