Charley A. DavidsonPartner

Charley Davidson leads the firm’s criminal defense practice, providing passionate, responsive counsel to clients facing state and federal charges involving white-collar and blue-collar crime. Before joining Hanszen Laporte, he was a partner at a large international firm, where his practice focused on white-collar defense. He also served as a partner at a Houston-based criminal defense law firm.
Charley spent three years as an assistant U.S. attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas and seven years with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. He has served as first-chair counsel in well over 100 jury trials in state and federal courts.
Although he is willing and fully prepared to take cases to trial, Charley recognizes that alternative methods of resolving conflicts are often better for his clients. He is a skilled negotiator who encourages clients to consider mediation, arbitration, plea bargaining, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution when appropriate.
